The dissolution of the Soviet Union reshaped the world in the economic, political and cultural sphere. The development of the free market economy in the new period increased interest in entrepreneurship and Russia's historically entrepreneurial adventure began. Students willl earn the history of Russian entrepreneurship and have detailed information about regional studies.

To learn the main stages of development of entrepreneurship in Russia. To teach students to argue logically on economic and entrepreneurial issues.
1. Students are able to use economic and history vocabulary in writing analytical articles, business reports, and presentations.
2. Students are able to develop oral communication skills in business and academic settings.
3. Students are able to discuss and analyze the history and development of entrepreneurship in Russia.
Week 1: Introduction to the course. The emergence of entrepreneurship in Russia.
Week 2: The main stages of the development of entrepreneurship. The black market and the shadow economy.
Week 3: Privatization and the emergence of oligarchs.
Week 4: The beginning of perestroika and private enterprise.
Week 5: The development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
Week 6: The beginning of market reforms: private enterprise in the late USSR.
Week 7: The financial crisis of 1998.
Week 8: The emergence of the first Russian companies.
Week 9: The development of IT enterprises and start-ups.
Week 10: State support for business.
Week 11: Problems and prospects of Russian entrepreneurship.
Week 12: Final exam
