The aim of this course is to focus on the political parties and political events represented in the Turkish Grand National Assembly established during the period of Atatürk, starting from the political revolutions of the Republican period (Abolition of the Sultanate, Proclamation of the Republic, Abolition of the Caliphate), to dwell on the social effects of the legal revolution and the new legal order, the changes brought about by the revolutions in the fields of education, culture and economy, and to evaluate their effects on the modernization of Turkish society.
1. In this course, students will learn about the domestic and foreign policy developments of the Republic of Türkiye in the periods of 1923-1938, 1938-1950, 1950-1960.
