Course Description
The course content (including the subject and scope of the research to be conducted) is determined by the instructor, taking into account the student's interests.
Textbook and / or References
Some of the main sources will be provided to the student by the instructor. All other sources will be researched and identified by the student in accordance with the content of the research to be conducted.
Course Objectives
1. This course aims to teach students how to conduct academic research. To achieve this objective, students are expected to: (i) read sources related to their research topic, (ii) deliver oral presentations to the instructor on the materials they have read, (iii) write either a short research paper with original value that reports the findings of their research or project, or an academic review paper that compiles the sources they have studied throughout the semester.
Course Outcomes
1. Analyze the behavior and decision-making processes of economic units with an analytical and critical perspective.
2. Develop effective written and oral communication skills in Turkish and English.
3. Increase the ability to work independently or in a team and take responsibility.
4. Gain advanced statistics, econometrics and computer software skills to examine and interpret economic data.
5. Gain interdisciplinary knowledge that will enable a multi-dimensional approach to economic analysis.

Week 12: Student presents second draft of project (Student makes final presentation to instructor during final week.)
