This course is designed to enhance students' analytical writing skills necessary for academic and professional success. It covers essential writing formats, critical thinking strategies, and effective communication techniques across various disciplines, including economics and social sciences.
Textbook and / or References
There is no required textbook for the class. The majority of course material will be presented during class sessions. Supplementary lecture notes may also be provided or posted on the class website as needed.
This course aims to introduce students to fundamental analytical writing techniques and their applications in various contexts. It focuses on developing students' ability to structure and articulate ideas clearly in different written formats, including emails, resumes, statements of purpose, abstracts, petitions, research proposals, and academic writing. Additionally, the course addresses key aspects of effective communication, including body language during presentations, plagiarism awareness, citation techniques, and strategies for delivering well-organized presentations. Through practical exercises and discussions, students will enhance their writing proficiency and presentation skills for both professional and academic settings.
