Course Description
This course teaches selected continuous-time models from advanced macroeconomic theory through advanced mathematical methods such as calculus of variations and optimal control.

Course Objectives
1. To teach the relationship between economic growth and the dynamic trade-off between household savings and consumption choices in multi-period models.
2. To teach how different production functions, consumer behaviors, and technological development patterns can affect economic growth and key macroeconomic variables.
3. To examine the potential effects of economic policymakers' decisions on growth and key macroeconomic variables.
Course Outcomes
1. It allows students to become familiar with multi-period macroeconomic models.
2. It teaches the solution of dynamic optimization problems.
3. It provides students with an idea of what graduate-level macroeconomics education is like.
