Program Information
The aim of the Department of Political Science and International Relations is to provide the necessary conceptual framework and and research capabilities in order to grasp the dynamics of interaction among actors within the national boundaries as well as actors at the global level. The target of the progam is to examine the mechanisms of governing at the sub-state, state and global levels. It also examines the decision making mechanisms of the different actors. Besides, it tries to uncover the reasons why conflicts occur and how the durable peace can be achieved.

2. To educate individuals with awareness of political, social, and economic issues, as well as sustainability, who are capable of interdisciplinary and critical thinking.
3. To train graduates equipped with the intellectual knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary for pursuing careers in diplomacy and public service at national and international levels.
4. To prepare graduates for careers in national and international private sector organizations.
5. To develop graduates with the cognitive knowledge, intellectual capacity, and analytical skills required for pursuing academic careers.
6.To equip graduates with the theoretical, empirical, and practical knowledge necessary for building careers in national and international non-governmental organizations.
Students who successfully complete this program are awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and International Relations.
The Political Science and International Relations program is a Bachelor's degree program, classified as Level 6 in the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ).
Students should complete all their courses and coop-educations successfully, have minimum GPA of 2.00 (out of 4.00) and have at least 266 ECTS.
By completing secondary education (high school), the national center placement examination will be required to obtain sufficient points in the appropriate score category. Student admissions are carried out by the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center via the Student Selection and Placement System.
TOBB ETÜ Undergraduate Education-Teaching and Exam Regulations, Article 40 arranges how the prior learning can be recognized.
Exams, assessment, and evaluation are conducted in accordance with the "TOBB ETÜ Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations." Students' performance in the course is assessed by the instructor based on their exam performance, class participation, and fulfillment of other course responsibilities. The grading system to be used is determined by the Senate.
Full-time education
Students must meet all the course requirements and have 266 ECTS in order to graduate.
There are employment opportunities in the public and private sector. In the public sector, graduates can find jobs especially in departments of external relations, European Union and international relations. Enjoying the advantages of interdisciplinary education they received at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences they can find jobs in different departments of the private sector. There are also working opportunities in international organisations, think tanks and academia as well.
Graduates can apply to Master’s and PhD programs.
