The course is a departmental elective course for the undergraduate students of the Department of Political Science and International Relations. Students from other departments can take it as a faculty or university elective.
Course Description
This course examines the institutions and structures of the Republic of Türkiye from its foundation to the present.

Course Objectives
The main purpose of this course is to examine the formation, structure and development of the institutions that established and developed the Republic of Turkey. In addition, to understand the current institutions by learning their past. It also aims to address the importance of elections and coups in terms of Turkish political life.

It is aimed to teach the legislative processes of the TBMM to students in a practical way by visiting the TBMM and receiving a briefing from the Law Department Expert.
Course Outcomes
1. Students learn the founding structures of the Republic of Turkey.
2. Students understand the development of Turkish political life.
3. Students recognize the current institutions of the Republic of Turkey.
4. Students learn the fractures, transformations and developments in Turkish political life.
